General information

Vorkath is a level 732 dragon. Because of this, it's weak to both the Dragon Hunter Crossbow as well as the Dragon Hunter Lance. This is an instanced boss and costs nothing to access. If you die, your items will spawn in front of the entrance and remain there for 9 minutes before despawning.

Vorkath uses primarily magic attacks, so it's recommended to use Protect from Magic, however, if you use both antifire potions as well as a dragonfire shield/ward, protect from range is best. See the Gear Setups section for recommended gear setups.

Location

As with all bosses, locate the Purple Wizard and click on the "Bosses" section followed by "Vorkath".

Inventory & Prayer

With the amount of attacks vorkath has, the inventory can be tricky. The following is recommended:

  • Food (Preferrably combo food as Vorkath can very quickly hit very high)
  • Prayer restoration as well as a stat boosting potion and antifire as well as antifire and anti-poison.
  • A rune pouch with runes for Vengeance is also recommended.
  • A quite unique option is the slayer staff, as it can help stop you attacking when you get frozen and the minion gets spawned, making you able to cast crumble undead in time before it blows up, saving you 2-3 very valuable ticks.

Note: if you are new, an emergency teleport is also recommended in case things go south

Mechanics
  • Vorkath uses a variety of attacks, primarily range and mage attacks, as well as melee if standing next to him. He can also use three types of dragonfire: regular, venomous, and prayer-disabling kind. His dragonfire is stronger than other dragons' and requires more tiers of protection to block. The final common attack is a fireball he launches high in the air that must be dodged by walking 2 tiles away from it or it will deal up to a staggering 121 damage.
  • Freezing the player in place and summoning a Zombified Spawn that will approach the player and explode violently if not killed, resulting in up to 61 damage.
  • Launching acid pools around the area and rapidly spitting fireballs at the player that must be dodged or they will deal high damage very quickly, each attack being able to hit 30's every tick.
