Main page/Guides/Ironman & Hardcore/Skilling Guides/ Hitpoints
This is the Ironman/ Hardcore Ironman Hitpoints Guide, the guide for regular players is found Here.
Hitpoints represents a player's health. If it reaches 0, the player will die. Therefore Hitpoints is a very important skill. The higher you get your Hitpoints level up, the more damage you will be able to take whilst fighting monsters. Gaining experience in Hitpoints is very easy as it will automatically happen while you train your other combat skills.
If your Hitpoints reach 0 you will die and find yourself in edgeville. All but 3 of the items you carried will be dropped to the floor where you died, so if you had anything important on you, hurry back before it disappears. However, if you are skulled then you will drop all items you carry.
The punishment for dying on hardcore ironman is much less forgiving. If you die on this mode, not only will you lose the items that you carry, but all account progress will be reset, this includes:
- Items in your inventory
- Items in your bank
- Items you are wearing
- Items from your collection box
- Tasks/Task points
- All Experience gained
- Chief Thief Robins training progress will be reset
Going Above Your Hitpoints
There are a few items that allow a player to have more Hitpoints than normal. These will be shown below.
Each piece of Nexus armour that you wear will boost your max Hitpoints. Pieces Boost:
- Hat: 6 HP
- Chest: 20 HP
- Legs: 14 HP
|Rocktail||Can heal up to 10 Hitpoints higher than your level.|
|Saradomin Brew||Temporarily raises your hitpoints by 15% + 2, rounded down|
The effects of the Nexus Sets can be stacked with either the Rocktail and Saradomin Brew. Using a Rocktail will allow you to go up to 149 Hitpoints, while using Saradomin Brews allows you to go all the way up to 162.

- For HCIM, this cape will cost only 300 gp.
If you reach 200m experience in the Hitpoints skill you will also unlock the ability to buy the Master Hitpoints Cape. It is exactly the same as the normal Skill cape. However, you can adjust the trim colour to whatever you like. This cape costs 2.5m Gp.
