About
TzTok-Jad, commonly called Jad for short, is one of the strongest monsters in Old School RuneScape and the boss of the TzHaar Fight Cave minigame. With a combat level of 702, TzTok-Jad has a max hit of 97 and can easily kill most players in one hit with any of its three attacks: a Melee attack with its bite, a blast of Magic in the form of a fireball, and a boulder falling from the ceiling as a Ranged attack.
Getting There
You are able to get here by going to the Ancient Wizard and going to the fight caves.
Once you're in the fight caves, enter the cave.
Inventory & Prayer
Note: Inventory setup can vary from person to person. If you are extremely comfortable with the mechanics of Jad, you don't need to take any food / very minimal food. If you're semi-comfortable with Jad mechanics, it is recommended to take food seen in the mid tier set up. If you are not comfortable at all with Jad, you'll want to take the Low tier set up, even if you have max gear.
Mechanics
For this Jad fight, you are NOT required to go through 63 full waves to reach Jad. Jad will spawn right away as soon as you enter the cave and run to the center. Jad has 2 basic attacks when being attacked from afar (with range or mage). Both attacks can hit upwards to 90+ if not prayed against properly. Because of this, you are going to want to toggle between your protect from range (40 prayer) and protect from mage (37 prayer) prayers. Once jad dies, you will be rewarded a fire cape and some tokkul. You are able to gamble your firecape for the Jad pet. Killing Jad is also required for the "Fire Warrior" achievement to put on a firecape or infernal cape.
- His first attack that he could do is his magic attack. The way you know he will do this attack is he will stand up on his back legs and send out a magic blast out of his mouth. You will want to protect from magic for this attack.
- His second attack that he could do is his range attack. The way you know he will do this attack is he will smash his feet into the ground. This will bring a rock from the ceiling that can do massive damage if not prayed against. You will want to use protect from range on this ability.
