The foul beast known as the King Black Dragon is highly dangerous to those that aren't prepared. However, if you know what you're doing, getting kills here is a cake walk. The King Black Dragon uses a melee attack that can hit up to 30 and his dragon breath can deal up to 65. This can be almost completely avoided using anti-fire potions along with a/n (anti)dragonfire shield.
This boss is quite easy to kill and also counts as a Black dragon for your Black dragon slayer task.
Getting to the King Black Dragon is simple but you will still have to be careful as it involves teleporting to the wilderness.
- Locate the Purple wizard and click on "Wilderness" followed by "King Black Dragon"
- After this, walk to the east and go down the ladder as fast as possible (You will be teleported to Level 44 Wilderness, so hurry!)
- Pull the lever just next to the staircase and you'll be in wilderness level 99.

You should bring an equal amount of antifire and antipoison potions, and twice as many prayer potions. You should also bring a bit of long lasting food like brews as you take barely any damage during the kills with melee, and just some with range also. An emergency teleport is, as always, good to have handy in case things go bad or you just need a quick getaway.
The strategy is very simple in order to kill this boss as with the right set-up you can avoid 100% of the attacks from the King Black Dragon.
The King Black Dragon has 4 styles of attacks:
- Melee attack
- Dragon fire breath
- Frost breath
- Poison breath
It is very easy to prevent taking damage from these attacks.
- Melee attack - To prevent this attack use the protect from melee prayers or simply stand away from it.
- Dragon fire breath - In order to prevent attack this you will need to use a combination of normal antifire potions and a/n (anti)dragonfire shield.
- Frost breath - This attack is prevented the same way as the fire breath although you will still get frozen.
- Poison breath - Again, this is prevented the same way as fire/frost breath. However, you will be poisoned, so bringing antipoison potions will stop this.
As long as you pay attention to the potion timers and make sure your prayer doesn't run out you will take almost no damage from this boss.
