The Abyssal Whip is among the most potent and popular non-degradable melee weapons and is capable of attacking at the same speed of daggers and scimitars at 2.4 seconds per hit. One of the downsides of the Abyssal Whip is that it is not sufficient for training strength as the only attack option available, which will provide strength experience, is the "lash" attack option, which provides shared experience.
Players can attach a Kraken Tentacle to the Abyssal Whip to create an Abyssal Tentacle, which requires an Attack level of 75 and has +8 higher slash attack and +4 higher Strength bonus, equating to about 1 higher damage. This process, however, will cause the whip to be consumed, and cannot be undone. Once the Abyssal Tentacle consumes all of its 10,000 charges, the player will retain the Kraken Tentacle.
The Abyssal Whip is also used for creating the 'Special Whips' and players can also use either a volcanic or frozen whip mix, creating a volcanic abyssal whip or a frozen abyssal whip, respectively.
How to obtain
The Abyssal Whip can be obtained by killing Abyssal Demons. The Abyssal Whip is a special drop with a 1/12 drop rate. Killing the Abyssal Demon requires 85 slayer. The Abyssal Whip can also be obtained from an Unsired obtained by killing the Abyssal Sire.
The Viggora's Chainmace is obtained by killing Revenants in the Revenants Cave. The quickest way to get there is by using the Black Chins wilderness teleport and running north. The Viggora's Chainmace is a special drop for all revenants.
