About Firemaking

Firemaking is a skill used to light fires. It is the companion skill of Woodcutting.

Firemaking supplies

The only supplies you need to train firemaking, are a tinderbox and logs.

Tinderbox

The tinderbox can be bought from the shopkeeper at the shops (type the in-game command ::shops for quick access).

Logs

There are a few ways to get logs:

  • Chop them yourself using the woodcutting skill;
  • Buy log from other players;
  • Buy logs from the firemaking master. See further down this page.
Remember that ironmen are not able to buy logs from players.

How to train firemaking?

Just click on the tinderbox and then on the log to make fire. When you have fire, use the next log on the fire to burn the other logs automatically. You can train firemaking at almost every place. So it's recommended to train firemaking near a bank and you can even train it in the bank.

Firemaking master

The firemaking master (Ignatius Vulcan) can be found south of Seers Village just past the yew trees. He is able to give you skilling tasks to obtain firemaking points or money (you will also get participation points when you finish your task). In addition, you can view his shop where you can spend your firemaking points.
